Big and Little

Being a new member is one of the most exciting times! During the first week of pledging, new members get spoiled by their big sister (or Big) during Big/Little week which is a week full of excitement and surprises before the reveal. Bigs love to give gift baskets, decorate their little’s room, and give fake clues as to who they really are!

A Big is a mentor, a support system, a study buddy, and a best friend. She is someone who you can always count on. The bond between a Big and a Little is irreplaceable and beyond special that stays alive long after university. By getting a Big, you also gain a family line that will give you some of the closest friendships you will make.

Big/Little week is an unforgettable moment that sisters have during their time as Nu Sigs.
I never knew how much I needed a big before joining the sorority, and now I couldn’t imagine getting through first year without her. Having someone I can tell anything to and who helps me through everything school and life throws at me is so amazing. The connection we have is nothing I have ever experienced before and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
She is the first person I rush to tell things to, and who supports me with whatever it is. It’s a bond that I know will last a lifetime. The best thing about it is that no matter where life takes us, where we end up, or whatever comes out of our lives after university, my big will always be there for me and I will always know that someone is on my side.

Having Chloe as my little has been such a blessing. Getting to watch and help her grow into this strong, confident and thoughtful women has been an honor. Guiding her through her journey has taught me so much about myself and what a wonderful addition she has been to my life. Being a big is such a wonderful honor that I have been given and I'm thrilled we got to share it with Chloe.

Having Liza as my Big has been one of the best things to come out of joining the sorority. She’s helped me come out of my shell and grow so much in every part of my life, academically, socially and professionally. Because of her, I’ve met some of my closest friends, the kind of people I know will be at my wedding one day. She’s always there when I need advice, someone to laugh with, or just someone to listen. Liza has made such a big impact on my life, and I’m so thankful for the bond we have. I know it’ll last long after university.

I came into the sorority somewhat knowing what a big/little relationship was all about, however I had no idea how big of an impact it would have on my life. When I found out Jaimey was my big, I was ecstatic but I definitely underestimated how close our relationship would come to be. I can say with full confidence that I am by far the luckiest little. I am truly thankful to have met Jaimey and have such a funny, wonderful, caring soul in my life. She is not only my big but she is my best friend. And for that I am forever grateful.
